Here's a site I've just stumbled upon that does the internet proud: bibliomania.com 
You can find online copies of classic fiction, poetry, short stories and such. I took a quick look and they have everything from Dickens to Tolstoy to Mark Twain to Gogol to Yeats and T.S. Elliot. Granted, reading a classic on a computer screen isn't quite the same as having a wonderfully bound, illustrated edition you can curl up with on the couch, but still, access to a very impressive library that's never closed and no overdue fines!
